This Embedded System Development training course provides a comprehensive introduction to embedded systems, focusing on hardware and software development. Participants will learn about microcontrollers, programming techniques, interfacing with peripherals, and developing embedded applications..

Currently due to Covid19 outbreak, the course is available remote and however it can also be accessed online via your nearby Prog360 centre based on local availability.

Course Prerequisites

• Basic understanding of electronics. • Basic programming knowledge.

Course Content

    1. Introduction to Embedded Systems:

    • Definition and characteristics
    • Overview of microcontrollers and microprocessors
    • Common applications of embedded systems

    2. Microcontroller Architecture:

    • Key components and architecture of a microcontroller
    • Memory organization and data types
    • Introduction to ARM Cortex-M architecture (or similar)

    3. Embedded C Programming:

    • Setting up the development environment
    • Basics of Embedded C
    • Writing and compiling simple programs

    4. Interfacing with GPIO:

    • Understanding General-Purpose Input/Output (GPIO) pins
    • Configuring and using GPIO pins
    • Simple LED and button interfacing projects

    5. Timers and Interrupts:

    • Introduction to timers and counters
    • Configuring and using timers
    • Understanding and handling interrupts

    6. Serial Communication:

    • Basics of UART, SPI, and I2C communication protocols
    • Configuring and using UART for serial communication
    • Interfacing with peripherals using SPI and I2C

    7. ADC and DAC:

    • Understanding Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADC) and Digital-to-Analog Converters (DAC)
    • Configuring and using ADC for sensor interfacing
    • Generating analog signals with DAC

    8. Introduction to RTOS:

    • Basics of Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
    • Task scheduling and management
    • Simple RTOS-based project

    10. Summary and Q&A:

    • Recap of key concepts
    • Discussion of further learning resources
    • Q&A session

    Hands-On Labs: 60% of the training will involve practical exercises and case study.

    Materials: Participants will receive course materials, code samples, and resources for further learning.

    Certificate of Completion: Participants who attend all sessions and successfully complete the course assessments will receive a Prog360 Certificate of Completion for the Training Program.

Embedded System Development Certifications

Embedded System Development course delivery involves case studies, examples, discussions and exercises to enhance the learning experience.
At the end of the training the participants will be awarded Course Completion Certificates on Embedded System Development.
